The end of a letter road...

To all who may read this blog and who have enjoyed watching the creativity that has abounded on these pages for the past five years, thank you so much for spending time with us.

It has been a delightful journey to embark upon, but one that has now reached its end. There will be no A Letter A Week 2015.

I started this wee project back in 2010 as a way of getting myself to do something small, anything at all, creative each week. It certainly did that, and my creative life has expanded and grown alongside each year's blog.

Through the blogs I have 'met' many wonderful artists and enjoyed their willingness to explore the alphabet in so many wonderful, beautiful and creative ways.

Along the way we were also able to hold a fabulous exhibition and showcase the beauty of the alphabet to many enthusiastic and impressed viewers.

But after five years, I have decided that the time is right to complete the project.

Thank you all for your presence, your contributions and your comments - I have enjoyed it all so much and I look forward to seeing how we all finish our alphabets this year.

Go well

Fiona

for all the lovely letters...

  6. Thank-you, Fiona, for all of your hard work for ALAW. Although I only participated this year, I have grown creatively and thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone's letters come to life. My head spins with new ideas thanks to this group and now I have the courage to see them through.

  12. Fiona, I wanted to thank you for bringing so many artists together through ALaW - it has been a wonderful experience on so many levels. While I never did master the a letter "a week" part (and didn't always finish my alphabets/in a timely manner), the ideas & thought processes they inspired have been invaluable and extremely enjoyable. I will miss having ALaW always at the back of my mind, encouraging new trains of thought, but am sure that the work I have done toward the various alphabets - whether executed or still on the drawing board - will continue to show up in future projects.
As we are so close, I will wish you all a very happy 2015, filled with creativity!

  15. Thank you Fiona for all the hard work you put into A.L.A.W. and your constant encouragement. I am indebted to A.L.A.W. It kept me creating when I thought I was done with art, It opened new creative avenues to me and from this remote corner of Ireland I loved being part of the global alphabet family. I will continue to read your Paper Ponderings, You are such a talented inspiring person. I wish you good health and happiness for 2015.
